TED NUGENT Festival Trial Scheduled For March
October 20, 2004Muskegon Chronicle is reporting that Ted Nugent's breach-of-contract lawsuit against Muskegon Summer Celebration has been scheduled for trial next March.
Muskegon County Circuit Judge Timothy G. Hicks on Monday (Oct 18) set the jury trial for March 22, unless a settlement is reached at a pretrial settlement conference he set for March 11.
Nugent, the self-styled "Motor City Madman," has sued Muskegon's summer festival and leading festival officials for canceling Nugent's scheduled June 2003 performance after a controversy arose over news reports about racial remarks Nugent allegedly made in a Denver radio interview May 5, 2003.
Hicks last month threw out another part of Nugent's lawsuit, alleging festival officials slandered him in published remarks they made in May 2003. Hicks ruled no evidence existed to justify taking that part of the case to trial. Read more.
